Parents and guardians
For parents and guardians of a Creator under 18.
There is a page about my child. How is that allowed?
We understand that this may be a surprise. We build starting records from information already public on social platforms. We rely on those platforms’ age rules. A record existing does not mean your child agreed to AI use. A parent or legal guardian can claim it. When marked as a child’s record, all six AI settings start at Prohibited. The parent or guardian can change them. If you want the record removed, email support@sparkonomy.com. We give requests about children priority.
How do I take it down?
Use Remove this record. If you can sign in with your child’s social account, removal is immediate. If you cannot, email support@sparkonomy.com with the record link. Tell us you are the parent or legal guardian. You do not need a Sparkonomy account to ask. We check the request before removing the record. This helps stop strangers from removing someone else’s record. We give requests about children priority.
How do you know my child is under 18?
We do not run a separate age check. We rely on the social platform’s age rules. A person claiming for a child must say they are the parent or legal guardian. They confirm they have the right to act for the child. Once marked as a child’s record, AI choices start at Prohibited.
What stops a stranger from claiming my child’s record?
Claiming requires access to the social account on the record. A parent or guardian signs in with that account and confirms they act for the child. If you think someone has wrongly claimed it, contact support@sparkonomy.com. We will give it priority.
Is my child’s face being used to train AI?
OCG cannot tell you whether another service has used your child’s face to train AI. When you claim and mark it as a child’s record, all AI choices start at Prohibited. This clearly says no to AI use. It does not physically block other systems from misusing an image.
What exactly does “Prohibited” protect them from?
Prohibited says that AI must not use those parts of your child’s identity, including for training or making new content. All six choices start this way when a parent or guardian claims and marks a child’s record. A parent or guardian can change them. Some AI systems still refuse to act on any permission for a person under 18. Every change is logged on the record.
Can someone work out where my child lives or goes to school?
We do not publish home addresses, school names or private contact details about children. Location is limited to city and country, and you can hide those too. Please check the record and tell us if you see anything that concerns you.
Do I need my own account to act for them?
To claim or manage the record, sign in and confirm control of your child’s social account. Say that you are their parent or legal guardian. This confirms that you have the right to act for them.
How do you check that I really am the parent?
We check that you control the social account. We do not separately check that you are the parent. When you say you are the parent or legal guardian, you confirm that you have the right to make choices for the child. Please make that statement with care.
What happens to the record when they turn 18?
The settings do not change on their own. At 18, the Creator can sign in, confirm control of the account and manage the record themselves.
Can my child change the settings back without me knowing?
A person with access to the required accounts may be able to change the record. If your child has that access, they could change it too. The change log shows what changed, how and when. It helps to agree who will manage the record.
Can the other parent change or remove it?
Yes, if they can pass the account checks. We do not settle disputes between family members. Changes, including who made them and when, are logged on the record.
Did my child agree to this somewhere without me?
The record does not mean your child agreed to anything. A starting record can be made from public information without a sign-up. A parent or legal guardian must act for a child to claim the record, set AI choices or remove it.
Is a removal permanent, or does it come back?
The removed record stays down. We keep a small private marker so our system does not rebuild it. You can choose to create a fresh record later.
Who at Sparkonomy sees a child’s information?
We handle a child’s data under our Privacy Policy. A public record uses public information. Hidden details are not shown on the public page. Please see the policy for how data is used and shared: https://www.sparkonomy.com/legal/privacy-policy
