Can AI make fake videos of me? Does this stop that?

AI can make fake images, videos or voices. OCG lets you clearly say which uses you allow or refuse. It also gives you a signed record of your choices, with evidence of when they were made. This helps you show what you said if there is a dispute. It cannot physically stop someone from making a fake.

Will you help me if I find a deepfake of myself?

We’re really sorry this has happened to you. A fake video, photo or voice recording of you can be upsetting. Save the link and screenshots. Report the fake to the platform where you found it. You can also download your consent certificate from your OCG record. If you report the issue to the police or other authorities in your country, share the certificate with your evidence. Its timestamp helps show what AI choices you made and when. We can explain your record and certificate. We do not run the complaint or removal process for you. The certificate records your choices. It does not prove who made the fake or mean the platform must remove it.

What kind of misuse can happen? What can I do now?

A fake can make it seem that you said, did or promoted something you did not. OCG helps you state who you are, what you allow and when you made those choices.

If a video is labelled “AI-generated”, does that mean the person in it gave permission?

No. “AI-generated” tells you how something was made. It does not tell you whether the person agreed to it. A labelled video can still use a face or voice against that person’s wishes. OCG makes the person’s choices available to check.

What does the certificate prove? Does it cover my whole record?

It records the six AI-use choices and the linked social-account references. It also helps show when those choices were made. It does not certify your whole bio, prove your legal identity or prove ownership of every work.

Has a court accepted an OCG certificate yet?

Not yet. OCG has only just launched. The certificate records your AI choices and is digitally signed. It is added to a public log designed to reveal later changes. Groups of entries receive an independent timestamp through an EU eIDAS-compliant service. This helps show what was recorded and when. A court decides whether to accept it and what weight to give it.

If AI companies have not agreed to follow this, why should I spend time on it?

That is a fair question. You can make your identity and choices clear today. You get a public record you can manage, plus a signed certificate of what you said and when. We will work with AI companies to encourage them to use OCG. Search and AI tools can already read the records. We cannot make every company follow your choices. But you do not need to wait for them all to agree before stating what you allow.

Which AI companies actually read or honour OCG?

We will work with AI companies to encourage them to use OCG as a source. The records are already public and built for search and AI tools to read. On the first day, bots from most leading search and AI engines visited the site. Bots are software that reads web pages. Those visits show the site was found. They do not prove how a company used the data or whether it follows the terms.

Does OCG need a partnership with every AI company to work?

No agreement is needed just to read a public record. An AI tool can find it through the open web. It still needs to read the choices correctly and follow them. Being able to read the page is not the same as agreeing to respect it.

What happens if an AI company ignores a Prohibited declaration?

Your record and certificate can help show the choices you made and when. Save evidence of the misuse and report it to the platform or relevant authority. OCG cannot fine the company, remove its content or switch off its model. What happens next depends on the case and the law where it is handled.

What do I get if an AI company ignores my choices?

You get a clear record of your choices, tied to your identity. People and AI systems can read it. A signed certificate and timestamp evidence help show what you said and when. This can be useful if there is a dispute. It does not physically stop every misuse.

Can OCG remove information already absorbed into a trained model?

OCG cannot make an AI model forget data it has already learned. It publishes choices for readers to check before future use. Removing an OCG record does not erase all outside copies or retrain a model.

Do laws make every AI company follow OCG choices?

There is no single rule that makes every OCG choice legally binding everywhere. The result depends on the use, the rights involved and the law that applies. OCG gives you a public record of your choices. It does not decide a legal case.
