Claiming and signing in
Claim your record, sign in safely, and fix sign-in problems.
Do I have to give you my Instagram password?
No. You sign in on the social platform’s own page, such as Instagram or YouTube. That shows us you control the account. We never ask for or see your password.
Will this hurt my account? Can I get banned or shadow-banned?
We do not post, follow or send messages from your account. Before you claim, we use public information. After you claim, we use the platform’s official sign-in and your permission to read account details. This is a normal account connection. It does not change your account’s standing on the platform.
I lost access to my social account, or my sign-in isn’t working. Can I still claim my record?
Start with the social platform’s account recovery steps. Once you have access again, try signing in to OCG. Check that you are using the account shown on the record. Use the same browser for both services and allow the requested permissions. If you still cannot sign in, email support@sparkonomy.com. Include your record’s SPRK ID and the platform name so we can help.
My social sign-in isn’t working and I can’t claim my record. What do I do?
Let’s try these steps: • Page stuck: open the link in your phone’s usual browser, such as Safari or Chrome. A browser inside a social app may block sign-in. Try another browser if needed. Check whether an ad blocker is stopping the page from working. • “You’re not signed in”: your session may have ended. Try again in the same tab without switching apps. • “That account isn’t on this record”: sign in with the account shown on the record. If the handle is wrong, use Correct this record. • Mobile code not working: check the number you used. The code has four digits. After five failed tries, it locks. You can ask for a new code every 30 seconds. • “We couldn’t check just now”: this is a temporary issue. Nothing has changed. Please try again in a minute. Still stuck? Email support@sparkonomy.com with your SPRK ID and platform name. You can also use Correct this record or Remove this record without signing in. A person reviews these requests.
What does “Unconfirmed” mean? Does it make me look fake?
It does not mean you are fake. It means no one has signed in to claim the record yet. The label is about who controls the record. It does not say whether every fact is right or wrong.
Someone else has claimed my record. What now?
Please sign in with your real social account and tell us what happened. If your checked handle differs from the one used to claim the record, we will look into it. Send your record’s SPRK ID and platform name to support@sparkonomy.com.
Can I get a blue tick here?
OCG does not give you a social-platform blue tick. “Confirmed by owner” means someone signed in and took control of the record. If a social platform gives your account a blue tick, it can appear next to that account on your record.
How do you check that a record is mine?
We check your email or mobile number and your control of a social account. The social check uses the platform’s official sign-in. We do not ask for government ID or a selfie/video check. The record still labels facts as Verified, Sourced or Stated.
Can someone else change my information or AI permissions?
A person needs to pass the account checks to manage a claimed record. Someone you share those accounts with may be able to manage it too. Keep your social accounts and OCG login details safe. Other people can report an error through Correct This Record. Our systems and team review the request before a change is made. A report does not give that person control of your record or your AI choices. Changes are logged on your record.
What if someone hacks my Sparkonomy account? Can they change my AI terms?
To manage a record, you sign in with your email or mobile number and confirm control of the social account. Protect both accounts. Someone with access to both may be able to change your record. The public change log shows changes to the record and AI choices, including how and when they were made. Check it if you see something unexpected.
Which platforms support official sign-in, and how do I add a second channel?
Yes. You can verify one account or channel per supported platform. To add a second account on the same platform, use Related Social Accounts. It is in the last part of the record editor. You can add your own other accounts or accounts you manage, such as a pet account or a YouTube channel in another language. This section also includes Substack, Medium, WhatsApp and LINE. These links are marked Stated. That means you added them and we have not checked them. Their followers do not count towards your record’s total. As of 3 October 2026, official sign-in works for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and Snapchat. Facebook and LinkedIn are added by hand and marked Stated. Separate public identities can have separate records. A Related Account link alone does not prove who owns it.
